Poplar is, as ever, concerned about her height - she just doesn't seem to be getting any taller, and when Takanashi calls her "tiny and cute" again, she gets mad and runs off is a bit of a huff. Takanashi doesn't see what the problem is - although a swift punch from Inami may be just the wakeup call he needs. And he gets a taste of his own medicine, in a way, when he finds out that Kyoko's been indescriminately squashing bugs...

PoplarKyoko doesn't know what all the fuss is about

I want to find whoever decided that a simple punctuation mark was enough to differentiate between seasons - K-On! becomes K-On!!, Gintama becomes Gintama', Squid Girl! becomes Squid Girl!?... and now Wagnaria!! becomes Wagnaria'!!. Why "Season 2" doesn't cut it, I'll never know. I missed the first season of Wagnaria!! (or Working!!, if you prefer the Japanese title - there are copyright / confusion issues over using that name in the US, apparently - normally I'd quickly blitz the first season streams hen that happens, but there are no first season streams, so I'm a little in at the deep end here. That said, I'm liking what I see. The series follows the adventures of the Wagnaria family restaurant, who are a rather wacky and deranged bunch - sensitive-about-her-height Poplar, man-phobic Inari, desperate-to-be-adopted Aoi, sword-carrying Yachiyo, and more besides. Aoi in particular was an instant hit with me (although poor Otoo), but even amongst the male cast members - and there are quite a few of them, by modern standards - there's some good fun to be had.

THE GOOD: Varied cast, each with their own little hangups; looks good; doesn't dwell on gags for too long (figure 3-4 per episode), so boredom doesn't get much of a chance to set in.

THE BAD: Nothing particularly original, characters do play to well-established tropes. But in the context of this sort of show, neither of those are really reasons not to watch,

A keeper, then - and heaven help me, I may need to import the first season from the US. Aaargh.
