Another game-turned-anime, as Generation of Chaos goes from one type of shiny disc to another...
Departure of Chiffon
When Chiffon was growing up, he showed quite a lot of promise in the
Coliseum (think Pokemon battles), until he was beaten in a contest by a
creature that looked suspiciously like Pikachu. The reason for his
defeat? He was getting too old to be able to control monsters, so now
he's taking his last monster back to its home while it can still
understand him. Just before reaching his monster's home forest, they
stop at a city for one last break - but it seems the sity has been
being attacked by monsters a lot lately - one just like Chiffon's - and
they're not too friendly towards monsters & the people that keep
them at the moment. Not a good time for Chiffon to lose control of his
monster...
That summary only covers the first of two short stories in this OVA
- I'll admit to losing interest & not bothering with part 2. Not
great animation - particularly for an OVA series - and the story didn't
grab in any way either. Generation of Chaos was originally a
series of PlayStation games, and this definitely has the feel of a game
tie-in - I'm figuring it's a 'treat for the fans'-style OVA, which
would go a long way to explaining my lack of interest.
Either way, this just didn't have enough about it to make me want to continue watching - so I didn't. Pass. |
