Tomorrow's review is Ghost in the Shell: Stand Alone Complex 2nd Gig #1. You may or may not notice that it's the first GiTS review I've done - meaning I'm jumping into the middle of the series. Simple reason: Manga UK provided a review copy, and it's good manners to review these when you get them.
The problem is that I've never seen any GiTS before, apart from a few minutes of 2nd Gig I managed to catch at October's London Expo. What to do? I was going to wait until I'd managed to catch at least the movie and some of 1st Gig (they're on order as I type), but a friend suggested that before-and-after reviews could be interesting - so tomorrow's review gives my impressions of 2nd Gig before I've seen the earlier stories. From what I've been able to tell so far there's no great reliance on how much you know of previous events, but we'll see how things pan out & if necessary, update the review later.
