I don't normally pay much attention to the AMV (Anime Music Video) scene, but one was flagged up on the AoD Forums recently that was too good not to mention. This one's based on a favourite series of mine, Mahoromatic
Mahoro's a strange combination of slapstick comedy ("Ecchi nano wo ikenai to omoimasu!"), action adventure (Mahoro's battles against Saint), and romance of sorts (Mahoro's relationship with Suguru). The only problem was, the romance side of things really wasn't developed as well as it could have been, and being a GAINAX series the ending truly sucked - criminally so, as it took what had been done with the romance aspect and ruined it completely.
So along comes this AMV. It uses the song Iris by the Goo Goo Dolls - which conveniently is another favourite of mine - along with some very good scene selection to try an capture the feeling that GAINAX screwed up. I think it does a pretty good job. See for yourself.
