I have to laugh at the "justification" some "fans" use for refusing to buy a series. Speed Grapher's the series at fault this time, following FUNimation's announcement that they hadn't been able to secure the rights to use the show's original opening theme (Girls on Film by Duran Duran). From the AoD Forums:
No Girls on Film? Well damn, guess I won't be buying the show then.
They aren't going to have the opening for Speed Grapher? WTF?! Forget it, I ain't getting it.

..and more to the same effect in the thread.

Now, I'll admit that Speed Grapher is hardly going to set the world alight - but to me, the only legitimate reason for refusing to buy the series because the OP has been changed is if you were only buying it to get the song. Let's think about that: 7 x $20 (assuming a good online discount) for a TV edit of the song, or 1 x $0.99 on iTMS for the full-length version. Which makes more sense?

If you'd been planning to buy the series for its content, that hasn't changed (FUNi are even releasing the home video version, with added t&a), so what's the issue? Or are we just dealing with
a) people who had no intention of buying the series and are just latching on to a reason to whine; and / or
b) people who are quite happy with their fansubs / bootlegs and are looking for an excuse, however flimsy, to pass on the R1 release because "FUNimation have screwed up the release"?

You think?
