And not a moment too soon - I just bought my HDTV + Blu-ray kit at the beginning of the month. Sony Pictures are the first out of the blocks, and here's the initial release list: 25th September 2007 Tekkon Kinkreet 5th November 2007 Final Fantasy VII: Advent Children 7th January 2008 Cowboy Bebop PAPRIKA Steamboy Bring 'em on. On a related note, FUNimation in the US have also confirmed their entry to the Blu-ray market, with 2 Dragonball movies being the first releases - I've got no interest in them, but they've also confirmed that they'll... ...start releasing high definition versions of some of its most popular catalog titles in the U.S. Further details, including street dates and pricing, will be released at a later date.FUNimation have a decent back-catalog, so that could lead to some interesting releases. Hopefully their UK operation will follow suit before too long. |
