 Tekkonkinkreet was one of 12 films to be submitted for nomination for the Best Animated Feature award at the next Oscars ceremony - the shortlist will eventually be whittled down to three formal nominations, which will be announced on January 22nd. The other contenders are: Alvin and the Chipmunks, Aqua Teen Hunger Force Colon Movie Film for Theaters, Bee Movie, Beowulf, Meet the Robinsons, Persepolis, Ratatouille, Shrek the Third, The Simpsons Movie, Surf's Up, and TMNT.
