At least one major character faces their final battle in this batch of Pretty Cure episodes - guess who...
3 - Beware the Good-Looking Student Teacher!
Piessard's master, the Dark King, is getting impatient with his lack of
results, and he's running out of chances to produce. I suppose there's
always a fall-back career with 80's tribute bands, but what he needs is
to be able to get rid of Pretty Cure. Conveniently, there's a vacancy
for a student teacher at Nagisa & Honoka's school, and it's not
long before he makes his latest attempt to do away with our heroines.
Meanwhile, Mipple & Mepple take the opportunity to explain about
the Prism Stones - source of all life, which is why the Dark Zone's
King is after them...
4 - Miracle!? The Lively Art Museum
Time for the class fieldtrip to the local art gallery, with Nagisa
& Honoka being tasked with giving the guided tour. One of the other
students, Mayu, as really into her art & almost takes over their
duties - but not quite. Surprisingly, it seems Mipple may have been the
inspiration for one of the paintings in the gallery... Meanwhile,
Piessard's rivals in the Dark Zone are beginning to line up to take his
place - he needs to come up with some results soon, or it's the end of
the line for him. Naturally, his latest plan sees him following the
girls again - and this time it's Mayu's turn to get caught up in the
battle...
5 - Oh No! Piessard's Sacrifice!
Piessard has finally run out of chances - one more failure, and the
Dark King will have his life. His rivals are also trying to figure out
how two high-school girls could be so hard to beat, which doesn't
improve his temper any. Meanwhile, Nagisa's bothered that she and
Honoka don't really have anything in common, and feels like they're
being forced to work together. Not that she may have to worry for long
- Piessard has figured out that the two girls need to be together to be
a threat to him, and goes after Honoka alone - but will the knowledge
of the fate that awaits him if he loses be enough to help him win?
Not really much to say on top of what I wrote in my first thoughts on Pretty Cure,
as it continues to follow the tried-and-tested mahou shoujo formula to
the letter - while fortunately still continuing to be fun. There are
some little tidbits of information being thrown out about Mipple &
Mepple's backgrounds & the reasons why the girls are having to
fight, but for the most part it's the usual monster-of-the-week show,
and yet great fun to watch - at least in small doses. A marathon of PreCure
is likely to induce a bad dose of deja-vu, but I still have to
recommend it for those who don't insist on their anime being stylish
& pretentious. |
