Two-thirds of Earth's population has been killed - the Antarctic ice has melted and flooded huge areas of the world's land. To make matters worse, a race known as the Shadow Angels have arisen and are fighting humans for supremacy, making life for the survivors less than easy. Apollo lives with a group of wandering orphans, trying to eke out a living by any means - legal or not - but it seems he has a special ability that makes him of interest to military organisation Deava: he's an Element user.
