Here's a strange one. After press releases earlier in the week from both FUNimation and Bandai Visual talking of the need for Japanese licensors to do their part in combating free-streaming sites like Crunchyroll, GDH (parent company of GONZO) have been the first to stick their head above the parapet - but not in the way most people expected. More below the cut.
A post by Crunchyroll's site administrator claimed that Gonzo/GDH had been in touch with a view to:
"...trading ideas about what we can do together so everyone will benefit."
By way of a teaser, the post included a cover image of a dialogue recording script for episode 1 of The Tower of Druaga, a new GONZO series set to debut in Japan on 4th April. Now, that on it's own probably wouldn't be taken as anything too serious, but GDH have now confirmed to ANN that they have been in talks with the site, and that a press release will issue sometime in the next few weeks "regarding newer GONZO titles". Colour me very curious about what that one will be about... |
