The cutbacks at AD Vision continue, with PiQ magazine - their replacement for Newtype/USA - folding after just three issues. An announcement on the mag's website blames the closure on...
"...a combination of low advertising revenue, poor business management and a lack of proper marketing and promotion. We, the editorial/creative/production staff, did the best we could to put together a quality publication, but as weve discovered, without a good financial backing, its all an exercise in futility."
A fairly stinging rebuke to the parent company, there, although with the mag's shift in focus away from things anime-related and into more mainstream entertainment there probably won't be too many that miss it. And the woes at ADV go on...
