If you've been following anime fansubs & digisubs for any length
of time, you'll know their legal standing - strictly speaking illegal,
but with most R1 companies turning a blind eye to them. Yes, I'll be
reviewing digisubs, but I have my ethics. So here's the site policy on
digisubs.
Quite simple, really:
- Don't ask me for download sites. If you really need to know, Google is your friend.
- Don't expect to see me mention digisubbed releases after a show has been licensed.
This bit of fansub ethics really seems to have been forgotten about
these days, but I still try & hold to it. If it's been licensed,
I'll be waiting for the official release. Any digisub reviews I've
posted before the announcement will stay up, though - too awkward to go & delete them all... ^^;
I side with those who see digisubs as a way of previewing new shows
- I have limited money for anime, so I don't like buying unseen shows
& have no way of renting anime in the UK. If I don't like the show
it gets deleted, if I like it I will buy it. Simple.
