BLASSREITERThe torture that is BLASSREITER never seems to end - another weekend, another episode, and another opportunity for me to put the boot into one of the most hapless shows of recent time. If I can work up the enthusiasm to do that. Let me tell you, after watching this I've got very little enthusiasm left...

Victor is pressured to get the situation under control, and deploys Joseph, whose enhancement procedure has only just been completed. Meanwhile, Amanda and Hermann vow to avenge the deaths of their comrades, and face off against Wolf and his gang of Demoniacs. Substantially outnumbered, Amanda and Hermann are cornered when the enhanced and rampaging Joseph appears on the scene and starts to slaughter the Demoniacs. The massacre continues amidst Joseph’s hallucinatory manifestations of desperation, fear, and resentment...

Guess who?Joseph goes berserk

UN debateAmanda

Lots more action, most of it well into "Oh, come on" territory. We start off with Hermann and Amanda going into battle against Wolf's Amalgam army - and find out that these two mere XAT members suddenly pack more power between them than the Apocalypse Knights do. Riiight. Speaking of the Knights, they're in near-Earth orbit taking care of Beatrice while the boyos back at HQ are quickly discovering that these nano-machines maybe aren't such a good thing after all and are frantically researching "anti-nanomachines". Would it have been good scientific practice to have these things ready before they started injecting people with them? But wait, that would have removed the excuse for all those action scenes.

Add in some scene where the United Nations takes a very un-UN-like interest in the new Amalgam threat (cue more eyeball-rolling from me at the playground-level diplomacy on offer), and you have one reviewer who was ever so pleased when the credits rolled at the end. Only another six episodes of the torture to go. Really a show with no redeeming features - it even fails at being "so bad it's good". Really, don't bother.
