BLASSREITEROh, woe is me, for the fates have decided that BLASSREITER hasn't yet reached the end of its run - meaning I have four more episodes after this to deal with. I can only hope that the experience is building me up a healthy supply of karma that I can use to offset some future misbehaviour - I'm certainly not getting any pleasure out of watching this...

Al's return and subsequent suicide has had a been impact on Amanda and Hermann - if the fates can be so cruel, is there any point in continuing? Their thoughts are interrupted by the sight of an Amalgam army marching through the ruined city below them, Xargin rising at their head. The army ignores them, as if to confirm their unimportance, and instead heads straight for Zwölf headquarters. Beatrice is accompanying Xargin on this mission, but it seems her loyalty to him may be wavering. Xargin's purpose is to find out whether Joseph, who has the power to enforce submission of the Demoniacs, has awakened or not, while Joseph himself has been undergoing further "tuning" by Zwölf. Amanda, meanwhile, with her own agenda of retrieving Malek from Zwölf, succeeds in infiltrating the headquarters on the pretense that she has captured Hermann...

Pondering the imponderableBattle

Point at the target...Would be scenic, without the horde

I'm still not clear on what turned Xargin from social campaigner into sociopathic killer. If it was Sasha's death, then perhaps someone should tell him that she's still alive - he's clearly missed that news, and you never know what good it would do to know that his loved on is still on the scene. Other than that, the important "don't miss" moment is a simple comment, delivered as an aside by Beatrice, that indicates that Joseph may be the solution to the whole issue - if, as advertised, he has the power to control Demoniacs as will (at least, once he realises this himself), then it's Game Over for Xargin's plans. Surely the whole resolution to the story could turn on just that one matter?

Not that I much care if it does, as BLASSREITER still fails completely at getting my interest. We're reaching the stage of the series now where events should begin to ramp up to their finale, and instead of looking forward to the ending, I'm just not caring - I can't recall a series ever really losing my interest to that extent before. Just please, make it end...
