Final volume of the pantylicious Najica Blitz Tactics - although
I'm so used to the underwear now that I hardly notice it any more. ^^;
Throwing caution to the winds, I watched this while the Other Half was
in the room, and lived to tell the tale. :) So can Lila become more
than the machine she is (like so many other Humaritts seem to have
managed), and can Najica bear to let her go?
More indications that the Humaritts can become more than their
programming or masters' instructions should let them, here, followed by
some resolution (of sorts) to the relationship between Lila and Najica.
After all, when every other Humaritt is being rounded up, why would
they let Lila keep her freedom?
9 - The Brave Desert Lion with the Goddess
Najica & Lila are packed off to the Empire of Gilda, a nation in an
almost constant state of civil war. The main rebel at the moment is the
daughter of the current queen, who has built of quite the army with the
help of a Humaritt.
10 - The Final Destination of the Battle with Dangerous Love
Najica's assigned to bring in one of the assistants of Dr Rinka Ren,
the scientist responsible from creating Lila & the other Humaritts
she's been recovering. Yoshiki is on the run from Dr Ren with Humaritt
HHH, aka Serina, who he's fallen in love with. It's not an easy
mission, however, thanks to the army of Humaritts Dr Ren has sent after
them. Along the way, Yoshiki and Serina have a few things to teach
Najica & Lila about living together...
11 - A Farewell Mission with the Young Girl's Cordiality
Information provided by Yoshiki leads Najica and Lila to Dr Ren's
secret research facility, with orders to recover both Dr Ren and the
remaining Triple-Series Humaritts. Gento's a bit concerned about Lila's
recent development & advises Najica to leave her behind for this
mission, but Najica doesn't follow his advice. Once inside the base,
Lila has an encounter with Dr Ren's latest experimental Humaritt,
Alpha, while Najica eventually meets up with the elusive Dr Ren...
12 - A Gorgeous Agent with the Rose of Destiny in her Heart
Dr Ren naturally turns down Najica's offer to escort her safely out of
the battlefield her base has become. Najica soon discovers that "Ren"
is really just the Humaritt she'd been fighting earlier, who's become
somewhat delusional after Dr Ren abandoned her sometime previously.
It's up to Najica to bring her in, but the arrival of Alpha & Lila
on the scene makes events a bit more complex...
A good conclusion overall, then, with a few plot threads left
hanging should Studio Fantasia ever decide to do a sequel. The location
of the real Dr Ren is still unknown, as are her activities (it was
never really revealed just how involved in events the real Dr Ren had
been), and Lila & Alpha seem to have lived to enjoy their freedom.
Just to prove Najica has a heart. That's just my interpretation of events, however, and the ending leaves enough untold that there are several ways to take it.
I'm disappointed Lila didn't mature more than she did - she always
seemed stuck with the attitudes of a child, it seems, while the rest of
the Humaritts seemed to have developed a full range of adult
motivations & emotions. Perhaps Najica's cool attitude wasn't the
best of learning environments...
Overall, Najica has been a worthwhile show. For fanservice
junkies the attraction is clear - more underwear-per-minute than any
other recent show - but even people who prefer their anime with a plot
wouldn't be disappointed. With its James Bond-style agent action &
the underlying tale of Lila's 'coming of age', there's plenty here
apart from panties to keep you interested. Only fault would be that
some people will find the fanservice to be over the top, but
that's a matter of personal preference. For myself, I found it worth
watching. Recommended. |
