Another fanservice spectacular from the depths of my backlog, with the final batch of Guardian Hearts...
5 - School's X Talk - School Festival in Preparation
School Festival time, and this time around it's Cosplay Cafe - complete
with unfortunate 'wardrobe malfunctions', and Maya & Hina still
destroying just about everything around them. Hina's about to be
introduced to the school mysteries, beginning with a visit to the
haunted bathroom - being a bit on the nervous side, she opts for safety
in numbers & takes a crowd with her. Maya's too busy thinking of
married life with Kazuya to be much help, though - until a space ninja
sent to track her down appears...
6 - Playoff!! School Festival!! Guardian Hearts with Heart & Heart!
Getting back to the business of the festival & Cosplay Cafe. Hina's
being her usual clumsy self and making a complete hash of her work - so
it's not a good day for her Sempai, Ren, to come visit & see how
she's doing. Ren decrees that Hina has to get a confession of love from
Kazuya by the end of the day, or she'll have to leave him forever - so
when she sees Kazuya alone with Maya, it's time to fight for his
affections...
I'll keep this one short. Guardian Hearts makes good
eyecandy and is quite fun to watch, but in terms of shallowness there's
not much that can match it - and I don't mean that in a good way.
At only 6 half-length episodes you can't really complain too much,
but I certainly wouldn't recommend springing the money for the R2
release. I also can't really see it making the move to R1 (although if Eiken can get licensed, anything can), so Guardian Hearts gets relegated to the 'okay, but not good enough' pile. |
