It's the return of Maria-sama ga Miteru, now with added yuri. One-word reaction: yay! :)
1 - The Long Night
The Yamayurikai are having a 'New Year's Get-together' - in this case,
a night away at Sachiko's house. Since Yumi's been missing her souer
over the New Year break, you think she'd be happy at the chance to
spend some time with her - but some some reason, her brother's there as
well...
2 - The Precipitate Yellow Rose
Skip forward to March - and Yumi's friend on the school paper, Tsutako,
seems to have evidence that Rosa Foetida's seeing quite a large group
of different men. For some reason Tsutako's not going to make a story
out of her pictures, but just leaves them with Yumi to do with as she
wishes, giving Yumi a bit of a dilemma on what to do next...
The first episode here is mostly recap, to remind you of who's who
(and who's linked to who), just in case you forgot in the break between
seasons. I should point out that when I say "added yuri", I'm not
meaning that the show has suddenly become a fanservice-fest for
frustrated males - only that the some of the relationships have
'developed' slightly. Pay attention, and you'll see what I mean.
Other than that, the show carries on pretty much in the same style
as the first season. The big upcoming event is the departure of the
current Roses, as graduation approaches, and the shadow of that event
is beginning to fall on the younger girls - it'll be interesting to see
if the dynamic of the show changes as some of the cas move on.
Still rather slow, but still extremely enjoyable if you can handle the pacing. MariMite
was a show that almost came out of nowhere - the first season was well
worth watching, and the second season promises to be just as good. |
