Time for some changes, as Graduation Day approaches in this latest batch of Maria-sama ga Miteru...

3 - An Extremely Busy Day
Panic in the Rose House - Sachiko and the other boutons have realised they've forgotten about gifts & a proper send-off for the Roses, to mark their upcoming graduation. Always eager to help out, Yumi takes on the job of organising the farewell party, but the pressures of getting everything organised on time take a toll on her...

4 - Will
Graduation approaches, and Rosa Chinensis has suddenly taken an interest in spending some time with Yumi - perhaps making sure she's the right person to take proper care of Sachiko after she's gone? Seems all of the Roses are planning some sort of 'message' to leave their soeurs - except possibly Rosa Gigantea. Yumi's determined to make sure she does something for Shimako before she leaves, but Rosa Gigantea seems more interested in Yumi...

5 - When Years Pass By
It's finally Graduation Day. Sachiko's due to give the farewell address to the Roses, and it's turning out to be an emotional day for all concerned. Time for some reminiscing from the Roses about their time at Lilian Girls' School. When the Graduation Ceremony comes around and it's time for the speeches, it doesn't all go smoothly, either...

This feels almost like it should be the end of the series, as a sizeable chunk of the main cast heads off into the sunset. Fair enough, it won't be the last we see of the Roses, but I suspect their influence on events will be greatly reduced from here on in. There's a lot of effort put in here into trying to convey just what the Roses' departure means to the younger girls, and it makes these episodes quite heavy going in places. It's still enjoyable to watch, though, even if the comedy level isn't quite what it was earlier in the series.

Life goes on, however, and there are still 6 or 7 episodes left in this current series - so I'm curious now to see where it goes as the girls who are left behind take up new responsibilities and such. MariMite is one of those shows that takes a bit of effort to watch - mindless eye-candy it isn't - but it's always rewarding at the end of it.
