After my first thoughts on True Love Story, it may be a surprise that I finished the series, but I'm nothing if not a glutton for punishment...
Episode 3
Hina's still planning on how to get Yuuta to notice her, but she's not
having a lot of luck. Meanwhile, Yuuta's getting friendly with Nayu
Kamina, president of the school computer club, although it seems she's
only interested in his lunch. With all this competition, what's a girl
to do to make an impression? Wait after school and corner him, that's
what - and the walk home seems to be just what she needed to grab
Yuuta's attention...
Correction to the previous review - seems this series is just 3
episodes, not 4 as I'd originally thought. Not that that's a tragedy in
any way. True Love Story continues to be predictable, in a way
that only a low-budget OVA can be. That said, this episode was actually
quite enjoyable to watch - perhaps I was in the mood for some romantic
mush that day, but it did definitely cheer me up.
The overall verdict on the show still stands, though - there's really nothing
unique about the show that makes it worth recommending. Could have been
good with a bit more thought and a higher animation budget, but as it
is, it falls short. |
