Ichigo 100% continues, as does Junpei's
accumulation of cute women. What I wouldn't give to be in his
shoes - except without all the awkward relationship problems, the
stalkings, the misunderstandings, the broken bones... He's
quickly finding out that being popular with the ladies carries a whole
host of problems with it...
3a - The Second Buffon of Memories
The highschool entrance exams have gone well - sort of. Junpei
did only get in because someone else didn't take up their place, but
that's close enough. It also means he gets to go to the same
highschool as Aya, but before Junpei can follow through with what
his imagination would like to do with her, there's the small detail of
his existing girlfriend, Tsukasa - she's realised he's more interested
in Aya than in her, and has decided to transfer to a different school...
3b - Spring's Storm is a Childhood Friend
Junpei wakes up to find a rather cute blue-haired girl in his bed -
it's his childhood friend Yui, who's back in town after five years
living away. Country life doesn't agree with her, so she's
looking for local high schools she can board at, and she's decided
Junpei's going to help with her research. So far, so normal - but
her habit of seemingly forgetting he's a guy with, you know, hormones
and such, is really testing his willpower to the limits...
4a - Ups and Downs of High School Life
Junpei's parents have finally bought him his own video camera, and he's
going wild recording just about anything he can see - including
high-school girls' panties, when there's a convenient gust of
wind. Unfortunately for him, one of his first "subjects" turns
out to be quite the violent tomboy type, and Junpei's new camera
quickly ends up at the bottom of the river. Flash forward to his
first day at his new school: good news, Aya's in the same class as
him. Bad news: so is the violent girl who trashed his
camera. She's Satsuki Kitaouji, and despite herself she soon
finds herself growing to like Junpei...
4b - Heart and Dreams That Pass Each Other, But Are Oblivious to One Another
Junpei's sprained finger seems to be just the thing for getting
sympathy from the girls - especially Satsuki, although that seems to be
making Aya just a little bit jealous. Meanwhile, Junpei's found
out that the school's film club - y'know, that club he came to the
school especially for - has been suspended due to lack of
interest. If he can round up five members they'll allow him to
reopen it, but where can he round up five suckers from - especially
when Aya has joined another club..?
I suppose I shouldn't have been surprised at the confession of love
from Satsuki - I was just expecting it to take longer, but it adds a
bit of spice to the story as it's really
going to piss off Aya, who's already suffering from a bad case of
jealousy. As for the other new addition, Yui - fun character, but
the animators seem to have some trouble with her character model, as
one moment she can be the cutest thing on celluloid (or more likely its
digital equivalent), while at the next she can look decidely
creepy. It's very off-putting, and hopefully something they'll
get sorted out over the next few episodes.
Otherwise, things progress pretty much as you'd expect - some slapstick
comedy, some misunderstandings that create both funny and bittersweet
moments, and the odd flash of ichigo pantsu. Ichigo 100% continues to be fun, if nothing special.
