Another Cowboy Bebop box set, another three discs at a bargain price - and the good news is that there are some truly outstanding episodes in this set. Each of the Bebop's crewmembers gets their moment in the spotlight as the series draws to a close, and you really don't want to miss a moment...
As before, the discs included in this set are the same as those used for volumes 4-6 of the individual release, so check the links to the original reviews for full details of each disc. You get episodes 15-26 of the series here, which contains the best episodes in the series, from the hugely funny Mushroom Samba (what happens when Ed feeds the crew magic mushrooms?) and Cowboy Funk (where Spike has a new rival on the bounty-hunting scene), through the touching Speak Like a Child and Hard Luck Woman (where Faye comes to terms with her past), to the final two-part Real Folk Blues where Spike and Vicious finally settle matters. Without wanting to sound too clichéd - you'll laugh, you'll cry, and you'll wish the series had never come to an end.
Cowboy Bebop has been one of the very few series in the past 10 years or so that every anime fan really must buy. The only problem with these two sets is that I wonder how many dedicated fans there are who don't already own Bebop from the original release - but for what few there must be left by now, having the option of picking up this cheap re-release really should remove their excuse for not picking the series up. If you're one of the few, go get this. Now.
