Kakyuusei 2 - Aftermath of pain...Very soon there's going to be a point where I start screaming "Please make it stop!" when I see another dating-sim-to-anime conversion.  Kakyuusei 2 joins a long and not very distinguished line of such shows - I had originally passed on the show back when it first aired last season, but a number of rather good Megami posters based on the show persuaded me to give it a go.  Mistake...

angela: I/O - Cover ArtWhat is it about second albums?  I've often heard about the "Second Album Curse", where a group or artist who has had a hugely successful first album, has crashed ignominiously with their second.  Now, along comes the second mainstream album from angela, who originally made a splash in anime-land with their songs from Stellvia, and their extremely good first album, Sora no Koe.  Can they avoid the Second Album Curse?

Rune Soldier - Volume Two (Cover Art)I'll admit, Rune Soldier definitely can't be considered a 'current' release - but it is a fun little show.  Inhabiting the same basic genre as Slayers (comedy in a fantasy world), it takes the cast of a typical Dungeons & Dragons game and has a little fun with them.  Check that, a lot of fun with them...

Megami - February 2005For some reason not as ecchi as it usually is, here's this month's copy of Megami.  Not to say that's a bad thing, though - sometimes it's nice not to be presented with acres of bare flesh the moment you open the magazine... ^^;  Just be prepared if you usually like your Megami to be extra-ecchi.

Galaxy Angel - Volume 3 (Cover Art)One of these days I'm going to have to pick up the Galaxy Angel manga - apparently it has this thing called a 'story' that seems to have been lost by the anime.  For watching the DVD, though, it's a case of leaving your brain safely at home.  Sadly, though, even though it's a one-trick comedy vehicle, GA doesn't always manage to get it right...

Zipang - YousukeHere's a show that's bound to raise a few eyebrows - Zipang is essentially a World War II drama (with a little SF twist), and being told from the Japanese viewpoint some of the sentiment expressed by the characters probably won't go down well with Western viewers.  With that warning out of the way, let's take a look at how the show is...
