Yuki Kajiura - FictionAny anime fan who's been paying attention to their soundtracks these past few years will instantly recognise the name of Yuki Kajiura.  Having originally started off in the game soundtrack world, she's recently taken fandom by storm with her outstanding soundtracks to a number of recent shows, including .hack//SIGN and Noir.  Fiction is her first 'real' album, feature re-interpretations of some of her anime tunes, along with some new pieces...

Megami #56 - Cover ImageSinceNewtype/USA decided to drop their DVD and then upped their price, I'm left anticipating the arrival of just one magazine each month - fanservice favourite Megami.  To welcome in the new year, a slight change to the review format for the magazine - a few small scans, just to whet your appetitie.  I only have an A4 scanner, mind you, so don't mind if you miss the best bits...

Kiddy GradeAfter two discs where you really couldn't tell where Kiddy Grade was going, volume three finally starts to throw a few (very subtle) hints into the mix, while still maintaining its essentially episodic feel.  Far be it from me to thrown you any pointers, but pay very close attention to episode 9...  Otherwise, these episodes continue to deliver a no-intelligence-required mix of service & action.

Azumanga Daioh - Volume 2It's the return of one of the most random anime series I've ever come across. While a few more recent shows have tried to capture Azumanga Daioh's appeal, nothing has quite managed it. This volume starts off normally enough - every high-school show simply has to have sports fest & culture fest episodes (there seems to be a law about that somewhere...) - but from there, it gets very strange...

Ichigeki Sacchuu!! Hoi Hoi-san OVA
Now in Japan

Ichigekki Sacchuu!!Here's an interesting little 15-minute OVA short that's well worth a look - of all the 'doom-and-gloom future' scenarios that various anime shows have presented over the years, Ichigeki Sacchuu!! has possibly the most bizarre. Spare a thought for the Hoi Hoi-san and their eternal battles against creatures on six legs or two...
