More of the same from Kagura Security - it's another volume of GeoBreeders...
Airport #9 - Part 2
The Kagura mob continue their efforts to somehow prevent the Phantom
Cats' effort to hijack the plane - and Yu's not exactly helping.
Neither is the military's involvement. Things are complicated when the
Cats decide to change their destination to somewhere with no runway -
Ayagane City Centre...
Testaments
It's funtime in the Kagura office after Maki gets hold of some pellet
guns - time for some office-bound target practice. Meanwhile, Irie
& the Hounds are having to deal with the Phantom Cats' taking up
residence in a nuclear power station - although strangely, the Cats are
allowing it to continue operating. Also seems they've come up with a
new 'weapon' of their own for keeping the Cats under control. Later,
Maya has her own run-in with a very unfriendly Cat...
Winter Storm
Kagura get another break, as Irie and the Hounds take on a Cat target
of their own - but there's a surprise waiting for them when they launch
their attack - their target isn't there...
Not really much to say here - GeoBreeders has settled into a
fairy predictable routine, with the advantage that it's a fun routine
that doesn't leave you feeling like you've wasted your time reading it.
There the usual large does of action scenes, interspersed with smaller
doses of conspiracy & serious moments. Put it all together, and you
get a worthwhile dose of shallow fun - GeoBreeders has never really tried to be anything else, and fortunately it's very good at what it tries to be.
Just to note - I've reviewed the First Edition, which is now
out-of-print & hard to come by. The Second Edition should be out in
early 2005 - it's smaller & cheaper, but otherwise should be the
same as reviewed.
