Rumour has it that ADV's license to Sailor Moon and Sailor Moon R expires in June & the 2 box sets will go out-of-print after then. Rumour says they sublicensed from DiC, and their rights are about to expire.

Treat rumour with suspicion, but given some of the insane deals available on these sets at the moment (as little as $40 per set in places), it sounds plausible, so if you want them, get them now...
