Barely a convention goes past without FUNimation announcing something, and New York Anime Festival this past weekend was no exception, with the company confirming the X OVA & TV series, and Initial D (First, Second, Third, Fourth and Extra Stages). These are both "license rescues", with X having previously been handled by Geneon, while Initial D was originally released - in heavily-edited form - by Tokyopop. It appears that FUNi will be re-using Geneon's material for X, while Initial D will be being re-dubbed & retain the original music that Tokyopop had replaced - which would seem to suggest that this release will be uncut.
