Page 3 of 3 8 - Kusa's Play
Minaka's new rule, that those Ashikabi who within two weeks have failed to win a match will have their Sekirei deactivated, doesn't directly impact Minato and his harem, thanks to Musubi's victory against the scythe-wielder - but there are many other Ashikabi out there who aren't so fortunate, and they'll be looking for Sekirei to target. Either that, or be looking for a way to get out of Teito - and given Minato's prior success in that, it's no surprise that he's soon approached for help. Yukari and Shiina, meanwhile, have up to now really only been interested in finding Kusano, but on receiving Minato's message Yukari decides that their aim should be to win through to the end of the Plan. Minato's Sekirei, though, are too busy playing Uno to be worrying abut the Plan...
9 - A Multitude of Bonds
Uzume's go an unenviable job ahead of her: she's been ordered to take down one of the northern Sekirei - and that's Minato's group. It's a job she'd really rather not do, but with her Ashikabi's medical treatment being held over her as the price for her compliance, she really doesn't have much choice - Chiho's life is far more important to her than her friendship with the others. She's at least been allowed to choose her own target. Yukari and Shiina, meanwhile, are in take-no-prisoners mode, as the pair who who are about try and take them down are about to find out...
10 - Far-Reaching Sky
To Uzume, there's nothing left in her life except Chiho. Orphaned, seriously ill, and homeless apart from her hospital room, Uzume knows rightly that if the money for her treatment dries up then Chiho's already poor life will take a drastic turn for the worse - and that's why she does as she's told in her role as the Veiled Sekirei. Now that role has brought her face to face with Musubi and Tsukiumi, a battle from which no-one is going to back down. Especially as someone has made arrangements to make sure that at least one of the combatants dies...
11 - Preparations for the Festival
Higa pre-empts Minato's decision to try and meet with him, and approaches him in the corridor outside Chiho's hospital room. He has a peace offering, of sorts: data relating to Chiho's treatment. He also has a few choice words about MBI, believing that the Sekirei and Ashikabi alike are both victims of Minaka's ego, pawns in a game played for his amusement. He also believes that MBI ultimately holds the key to finding a cure for Chiho's condition - but while he sounds convincing enough in what he says, can Higa really be trusted? Of course, Minato has a contact within MBI - his mother - but when she's unwilling to help when he asks nicely, he decides that more direct action may be required...
12 - Tower of Confusion
The sealing of the shutters on the Teito Tower means there's no way back for Minato and his companions - and Minaka has made sure that there's an appropriate welcome in store for them. In a late change to the rules of his little "game", Minato now has a hour to reach the top of the tower - and he has to get there on foot. Not only that, but the other Sekirei in his little band have also each run into problems of their own, meaning that Minato's got no outside help. And only another 108 floors to go...
13 - Bonds of Truth
With the Teito Tower exploding around them, Minato and Musubi continue their run for the top of the building - the data they need for Chiho's treatment is still there, so they can't turn around yet. Matsu's found some unexpected help in dealing with the tower's defence systems, and Seo arrives with a copy of the master password in hand (very convenient), but unknown to Matsu his backdoor is also providing vital information to Higa - and the defence system, even when disarmed, still has a few surprises up its sleeves...
