The Traitor Monk, Akashi Shishidou, is just beginning to fill Ouri in on the deal the Shikabane Hime have made with the Kougon Sect when Itsuki and her contracted monk arrive on the scene - and it seems that she's keen to claim Akashi's scalp for herself. He's the one who has been behind the recent spate of shikabane, creating situations where people will die with the necessary regrets - but however Itsuki may feel about that, he's still human, and she doesn't have the authority to kill him. But one of the Shikabane Hime - one out of over 100 currently active - does have that authority, and has been assigned to the case. Meanwhile, Ouri's continuing habit of asking questions at inopportune times leaves Makina in serious trouble after she's distracted during a fight, while Keisei, who once was close to Akashi, comes face to face with his old friend again...
